Schutzhund IS a breed test.  The three phases and the individual elements were designed to test for and demonstrate the ability, character and adherence of the individual dog as a breeding animal, proving him not only worthy of passing on his genes, but demonstrating that he is a dog who possesses those characteristics that are needed for a true working dog - a herding dog, a guardian dog, a Police Service Dog.   In Griff, we have the whole package - the titles and  the koer class as per the SV requirements, and the true working dog.   Griff is a certified police dog for the Summit County Ohio Sheriff's Department.  He has demonstrated many times over "on the street" what the value of the breeding system, used correctly, means to our breed, and is a testament to the use of Schutzhund as a breed test by his tenacity and courage.  He has put his life on the line for his partner and was honored as the 2006 Hero Dog of the Year by the Northeast Ohio German Shepherd Dog Club and Bil Jac.

Griff's sire needs no introduction to GSD working people.  A son of a 4x WUSV competitor, grandson of the legendy Orry Antverpa, 2x WUSV Champion, himself a WUSV Champion, sire of a 2x WUSV champion, and many other WUSV competitors, he is acknowledged as one of the top contemporary sires, and has established a bloodline know around the world.   Just say "He's a Tom son" and everyone in the sport will know you mean Tom Leefdaalhof.

Griff's dam is known as a proven producer in Europe, and has produced a litter from Bashas paternal half brother, WUSV competitor, Zidane Leefdaalhof.    "Super female" was the assessment from my friends in Europe.

We are pleased to announce our upcoming litter sired by Griff and out of Basha.   The "H" litter will be a 3/4 sibling breeding to the F and G litters.   Sired by sons of Tom Leefdaalhof, pups from those litters are showing good drives for work,  as well as solid environmental and social nerves.  I expect that these pups will be as comfortable on the street as on the sport field and will love to relax on the couch!   If you want a true working dog, bred to the highest critera, this may be the right litter for you.
